REPORT: The Bears Have "Significant Interest" In Le'Veon Bell

In general I don’t love the idea of paying running backs a ton of money, and I’m not sure the Bears should do this, BUT BUT BUT…I love Ryan Pace. Running back is one of the positions they’ve been looking to upgrade and find a better system fit than Jordan Howard. Howard was rumored to be traded last year. The Bears didn’t dismiss the notion of adding Kareem Hunt. Now they’re interested in arguably the best running back in the NFL when he plays. Ryan Pace is a bold guy. He traded up to get Mitch because Mitch was his guy. He wanted Khalil Mack and he got him. It might have been prudent from a cap perspective to bring back Cody Parkey, but Ryan Pace said…fuck that guy. I would NOT count the Bears out on Bell.

And if you don’t necessarily believe your QB is a big difference-maker and you have the rest of the team to really go for it…then Bell could be the missing piece for this team. Ball control, run heavy offense, with the baddest defense in the league. That’s a formula as old as football itself and it’s what has always won in Chicago. I think I just talked myself into this move for the Bears. Worry about tomorrow’s cap problems…tomorrow.
